He could feel the void within his chest expand, and he raised one hand to press against his heart timidly, as if he feared his flesh would cave in should he apply pressure.



When your whole concept of life seems to change, when you start looking things differently, you know you've lost it all. When walking down streets becomes an opportunity, when you watch each car pass, subconsciously choosing which car would be best for you to step out in front of. When you imagine it vividly, your body hitting the metal, the car hitting your body as it skids across the street, skin being split open on the pavement.

When you look around you and no longer see buildings as buildings. Instead, you judge them, which one would be best to step off? Which one would provide a maximum chance at death?

You needn't really walk out in front of cars. Or step off buildings. All you need is to think about it an awful lot, let your mindset be twisted and shaken until you manage to convince yourself that these thoughts are normal. You'll find, that inside your torn little heart, you've really had nothing to begin with.



From now on, no matter what happens, no matter what we lose, as long as dawn breaks, human hearts will always heal.


...but when you've lost it all, you no longer have the right to retain your human heart.



It's hard; painful beyond belief...to pursue an illusion.
